We are the Mealiffs
2015 CedarView Reunion
Eighteen of twenty cousins,
With off-spring from 10 states,
Yes, ninety Mealiffs in CedarView,
A potpourri of the Irish.
A stunning view of the cedar,
Bursting with leaves,
Leaves that surround the abundant life of Bear Creek,
Amidst the prolific farmland.
A history before us,
Perched on a hill,
Home for Grandpa John, Grandma Ruth and their seven,
We call it CedarView.
Was there a feast?
Pizza, hamburgers, brats, fried chicken, pulled pork, maid rite, potatoes, baked beans, green beans, coleslaw, waldorf salad, fruit salad, carrots, celery, pickles, cranberry sauce, pickles, ...(gasp).......cookies, cupcakes, chocolate delights, bread pudding.......doused with water, soda, coffee and beer,
For ages under 4, chocolate from cheek to cheek,
All in the spirit of Grandma Ruth.
Excitement at every moment,
Kids on the swings,
Kites in the sky,
Cousins playing dominos and bean bags,
A hayride to Glenwood,
Fireworks in the night.
And on Sunday,
A blessing for all,
Inspired by our Pasteur,
To share, enjoy, love and worship,
We are the Mealiffs.
Yes, a wonderful life experience,
We thank the cousins,
We thank the gang of ninety,
We thank our God,
Because we are the Mealiffs.
